TakeAway Tax was founded in 2014 by Yvonne Cobb, CPA, with a mission to bring clarity, strategy, and confidence to the tax process. From day one, we set out to transform the tax experience—making it less about forms and deadlines, and more about decisions that help people and businesses move forward.

What started as a single Houston office has evolved into a regional network of franchisee owner-operators who deliver trusted service across communities. 2014 – Founded in Houston, Mobile-First

Yvonne Cobb, CPA, launches TakeAway Tax with a simple mission: help people “know their numbers” to make smarter decisions. From day one, we were mobile-first—traveling to clients to meet them where they were and making taxes more convenient and personal.

2017 – Expanding Services

Beyond basic tax prep, we add business formation guidance, IRS audit support, tax debt relief, and year-round planning. This same year, we partnered with local high-end apartment communities to provide tax services as a resident amenity—offered in the evenings and on weekends for maximum convenience.

2018 – Virtual-First Model

We roll out secure portals and video consultations, making it easier for clients to access concierge-style service anywhere.

2019 – Regional Growth

TakeAway Tax expands across the region with satellite offices while keeping Houston HQ as the hub for leadership and community presence.
